Overview
The Department of Pediatrics, with hospital services located at Justice K.S. Hegde Hospital, serves the medical needs of children from birth until 18 years of age. Our team of dedicated consultants, residents and nurses are committed to provide evidence-based quality care with compassion. We offer Outpatient, Inpatient and Emergency care services. Our services are ably supported by multi-disciplinary specialty and super specialty departments, 24x7 central lab and imaging facilities. Keeping up with the values and ethos of the Institution and its commitment to social responsibility, the services have been made available at affordable cost. Various government and insurance schemes are also supported. Located at Room No. 3 in the ground floor, our Outpatient services are available from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on all working days. In addition to health care needs, vaccination services are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We conduct specialty clinics on specific days for children with special requirements. Children admitted to our department are cared for 24x7. All deliveries are attended by doctors trained in neonatal resuscitation. Emergency services are available through casualty. The Children’s Intensive Care Complex is spread over 5000 square feet, and includes 13-bedded Level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 10-bedded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The complex is provided with high dependency areas and isolation facilities with negative pressure and HEPA filters for infection control. Both the units are served by intensivists qualified in Neonatal and Pediatric intensive care. Conventional and high breed ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, neonatal brain cooling, dialysis, plasmapheresis, hemodynamic monitoring with latest generation multi para monitors, sonogram and echocardiogram are available within the complex.
