Overview
Department of Urology started functioning since the inception of K S Hegde Medical Academy, under the leadership of Professor. Dr. V.N. Bhat. Since 2006 the department has shown tremendous progress under the guidance of Dr. Rajeev T.P as the Head of the Department. In 2011, our team of experts successfully conducted its first kidney transplantation surgery at Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. In December 2016, the department hit another milestone by conducting the first swap transplantation in Dakshina Kannada district.
The department started its first super specialty post graduate program (M.Ch Urology) in KSHEMA for the academic year 2016. The MCI recognized M.Ch program has one postgraduate being admitted each year.
